Reporting an error

If something on the site is wrong, the corrections page explains what to include so we can fix it quickly.

What we can't help with

We can't check a specific vehicle's recall or repair status, and we can't arrange repairs. For those:

• Is my vehicle affected, and has it been fixed? Enter its VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or call any franchised dealer for the make.
• Getting a recall repaired: contact a dealer or the manufacturer. The phone number is in each recall's remedy text on this site. Recall repairs are free.
• Reporting a safety problem with your vehicle: file a complaint with NHTSA at nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem. Complaints like yours are how recalls start.
• A problem with a dealer or manufacturer: NHTSA's Vehicle Safety Hotline is 1-888-327-4236.
