- Vehicle description: school buses. These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS 565, "vehicle identification number requirements." the vehicles have the wrong model year code in the vehicle identification number (VIN).

- These errors will affect the registration of the vehicle.

- Owners will be provided with corrected certification labels.

- Owner notification began September 15, 2000. Owners who do not receive the free label within a reasonable time should contact amtran at 1-800-993-7686. Also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
