- Vehicle description: generation II electric vehicles. Some replacement charger receptacle assemblies used for warranty repairs were built with internal component variation. This variation can generate arcing during the charge cycle.
- Consequence
- Extended arcing during the charge cycle could lead to a vehicle fire and/or personal injury.
- Remedy
- Dealers will inspect the serial number on the charge receptacle and, if necessary, replace the charge receptacle assembly.
- Notes
- Owner notification began November 16, 2000.OWNERS who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Saturn at 1-800-553-6000.ALSO contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
