- Vehicle description: minivans equipped with 3.0L engines. An accelerator cable was kinked during installation, causing the core wires to eventually fray.
- Consequence
- This could increase the friction in the cable, causing the throttle to be slow to return to idle. This condition could result in a stuck throttle.
- Remedy
- Dealers will install a new accelerator cable.
- Notes
- Owner notification began February 23, 2001.OWNERS who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673.ALSO contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
