Heil CP Python and Rapid Rail
Affected bodies are those which have a bolt on rear hinge assembly but do not have structural gussets to reinforce the z-plate.

- Summary
- Heil is recalling certain model year 2006-2009 rapid rail and cp python bodies garbage trucks with bolt-on rear hinge assemblies. Affected bodies are those which have a bolt on rear hinge assembly but do not have structural gussets to reinforce the z-plate. Cracking can occur in the z-plate area and a failure can result when the body is in the raised position during waste unloading procedures.
- Consequence
- The body can become unstable when raised during dumping operations and cause the truck to roll over on its side increasing the risk of injuries.
- Remedy
- Dealers will inspect and install the bolt on hinge kit free of charge. The safety recall began on March 10, 2010. Owners may contact heil at 866-275-4345.
