- Summary
- Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2025 CB1000SP motorcycles. The pistons and piston rings may have been improperly manufactured, which can lead to rod bearing failure, possibly resulting in rear wheel lock up or oil leaking onto the rear tire.
- Consequence
- Rear wheel lockup increases the risk of a crash or injury. Engine oil that leaks onto hot exhaust components increases the risk of a fire.
- Remedy
- Dealers will inspect and repair the engine assembly as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed February 9, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated December 14, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KT6. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning January 7, 2026.
