Summary: Seven-blade cooling fans installed on the involved vehicles may be subject to fatigue cracking of the blades due to stresses generated during normal vehicle operation.
Remedy: Dealer will replace seven blade fan with a fan of five blade design, without charge to owner.
Notes: Vehicle description: passenger vehicles equipped with 302, 351, or 400 cidengines and air conditioning.system: engine and engine cooling; fan.consequences of defect: blades may become fragmented and pieces could bepropelled in all directions, damaging other engine components. Nearby personscould be seriously injured if the hood is open at the time of failure.note: vehicle should not be serviced with the hood open and the engine runninguntil the problem has been corrected.
