- Summary
- A mismatched or improperly machined hand brake ratchet and plunger was installed on certain vehicles. The hand brake, when applied, may release when slight downward pressure is applied to the top of the lever. Sudden release of the hand brake could cause the vehicle to roll away.
- Remedy
- Dealer will inspect, and, if necessary, replace the ratchet and plunger of the hand brake system without charge to owner.

- Vehicle description: passenger vehicles.system: service brakes; hand brake.consequences of defect: unexpected vehicle movement could result in anaccident, property damage and personal injury.note: to prevent the possibility of the hand brake disengaging, extra careshould be taken when parking on an incline. The first gear should be engagedand the wheels turned towards the curb. It is also advised that children shouldnot be left unattended in the vehicle.
