Summary: The EGR valve assembly may develop cracks at the welded joint between the valve and the valve shaft. Cracks may enlarge with continued use and the valve could separate from the shaft.
Remedy: Dealer will install a new EGR gasket and valve, if necessary.
Notes: Vehicle description: truck, pick-up.system: engine; EGR valve assembly.consequences of defect: the valve may then be drawn into the engine, damagingsome of the engine components and the engine itself. This would render thevehicle inoperable and could result in an accident.
