- Summary
- The slide axle assemblies are secured to the trailer frame with u-bolts, nuts, and lock washers. These bolts were not tightened properly which can cause the slide axle assemblies to move laterally allowing the trailer to not follow the tow vehicle correctly.
- Consequence
- The trailer may swing back and forth increasing the risk of a vehicle collision.
- Remedy
- Dealers will tighten the bolts to the proper torque value.
