- Summary
- Vehicle description: 8' to 22' dump and flat bed bodies. The combination clearance lamp/side markers on the side of the bodies do not comply with the requirements of FMVSS no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
- Consequence
- These lamps may not be visible at certain positions to the rear of the vehicle, with the possibility that a person driving behind the vehicle may have trouble determining its overall width.
- Remedy
- Owners will be provided with free, new rear clearance lamps for installation on the rear of the dump/flat bed bodies.
- Notes
- Owner notification began November 15, 1997.OWNERS who do not receive the free new replacement clearance lamps within a reasonable time should contact ox bodies at 1-205-932-5720.ALSO contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-800-424-9393.
