- Vehicle description: Chevrolet and GMC conversion vans equipped with twin air "ultra" rear heating and air conditioning units and converted by southern comfort conversions. The heater and air conditioning units contain a resistor coil that can overheat when the fan is running at a low speed.
- Consequence
- This could cause a fire within the unit.
- Remedy
- Dealers will replace the resistor coil in these units.
- Notes
- Owner notification began February 10, 1998. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact southern comfort at 1-800-745-6096.ALSO contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
