- Summary
- Vehicle description: passenger vehicles. The rear outboard seat belt retractor spring can disengage from the rewind mechanism, disabling the retractor function, and preventing the belt from fitting snugly around the occupant.
- Consequence
- In the event of a crash, the occupant may not be properly restrained, increasing the risk of personal injury.
- Remedy
- Dealers will replace these retractors.
- Notes
- Owner notification began December 14, 1998. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Chrysler at 1-800-992-1997.ALSO contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
