- Vehicle description: heavy duty trucks. The door hinge fasteners contain a defect which could cause a failure to comply with the loading requirements of FMVSS no. 206, "door locks and door retention components."
- Consequence
- In the event of a crash, the door hinge may not perform as required by the standard.
- Remedy
- Dealers will replace the door hinge fasteners.
- Notes
- Owner notification began January 25, 1999. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact freightliner at 1-800-547-0712. Also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
