- Summary
- Vehicle description: buses. These buses fail to comply with FMVSS no. 121, "air brake systems." the rear brake release time can exceed the requirements.
- Consequence
- Extended stopping distance could occur increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy
- Owners will be provided with parts, instructions and assistance in modifying several rear brake lines and add a quick release valve to the rear signal line. New flyer will reimburse the owner's for the parts and labor costs involved.
- Notes
- Owner notification began December 1, 1999. Owners who do not receive the parts and instructions within a reasonable time should contact new flyer at 1-204-224-1251.ALSO contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
