Trailer hitches

Summary: Vehicle description: travel trailers. The safety chains do not have an adequate load range to prevent failure in the event the trailer is loaded to the maximum gross vehicle weight rating.
Consequence: This could result in the safety chains failing in the event of a separation of the trailer from the tow vehicle hitch which in turn would lead to a loss of control of the travel trailer.
Remedy: Dealers will install the correct load range safety chains. Owner notification began July 18, 2001. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact coachmen RV at 1-800-453-6064.
