Summary: Ferrara recalled 3 fire trucks equipped with caterpillar engines. The extension pipes attached to the aftertreatment regeneration device (ard) may develop a hole, and heat and flame may escape during a regeneration of the diesel particulate filter.
Consequence: This may result in a fire hazard.
Remedy: Ferrara is working with caterpillar to have the vehicles repaired (please see 08E054). Owners have been notified and arrangements have been made to have these vehicles repaired.
