2 recalls found in NHTSA data as of September 22, 2026

For the 2015 GEM E2. These apply to the model and year, not to one particular vehicle: check your VIN to see whether yours is included and whether it has been repaired.

Has your GEM been repaired?

Recalls here come from NHTSA’s records for the model and year. Not every vehicle of a model is included in every recall, and this site can’t see whether a repair has been done. Only a VIN lookup can tell you that.

NHTSA’s VIN search doesn’t show recalls that were already repaired, recalls more than 15 years old, or some small manufacturers’ recalls. A GEM dealer can also check your VIN. Recall repairs are free.

Seat belts

Summary
Polaris Industries, Inc. (Polaris) is recalling certain model year 2015 GEM EL, ES, E4, E4S, ELXD, E6, E6S, and E2 vehicles manufactured December 15, 2014, to August 25, 2015. The seat belts in the affected vehicles have retractor mechanisms that may fail, causing the seat belt to be stuck in one position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."
Consequence
If the seat belt does not retract or extend, the seat occupant may not be properly secured in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of injury.
Remedy
GEM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the seat belt assemblies, free of charge. The recall began on December 31, 2015. Owners may contact GEM Consumer Service Department at 1-855-743-3436. Polaris' number for this recall is L-15-02.
