Summary: Bolted installation of the steering gear housing has a tendency to loosen in service. This is due to a backward installation of the lockwashers, which are bellville type, and a resultant incorrect torque on the bolts.
Remedy: All recalled vehicles will have bellville type lockwashers at steering gear housing attach points replaced with standard split-type lockwashers.
