Summary: On the involved vehicles the electrical wiring harness leading to the starter and back-up light switch may have been improperly routed. The harness may chafe against the front engine shrouding eventually resulting in insulation damage, which can create an electrical short.
Remedy: The dealer will inspect and, if necessary, reroute the harness and secure it with a strap. If damaged, the harness will be replaced.
