On certain transit buses equipped with sure power battery equalizers, p/n 52210 24V/12V 100 amp series 1, the equalizers may experience a failure mode.

- Summary
- On certain transit buses equipped with sure power battery equalizers, p/n 52210 24V/12V 100 amp series 1, the equalizers may experience a failure mode. These equalizers used an inductor with the coils protected by insulation. Over time, the inductor insulation may degrade creating a short.
- Consequence
- The shorted inductor may cause the battery equalizer to smoke or burn, and possibly result in a fire.
- Remedy
- Sure power will notify DC's customers and replace the equalizers free of charge. Owners may contact sure power at 1-800-845-6269 ext. 113.
