- Summary
- Due to improper seating, there could be a clearance between the wear washer and axle lug, or between the wear washer and the inner race of the bearing.
- Consequence
- When truck is loaded, contact between hub nut and hubend cap could cause nut to become backed off and result in the wheel becomingloose causing failure of the bearing and/or axle which could result in anaccident.
- Remedy
- Adjust bearing clearance to prevent hub nuts from backing off and wheel becoming loose.
