Summary: An inadequate weld size at the intersection of a 3/8 inch vertical angle and a 1/4 inch diagonal angle near the bottom on the pintle hook plate assembly could fail.
Consequence: Weld failure could result in separation of the rearpotion of the pintle plate from the lead trailer, which could cause the towedtrailer to crash without warning.
Remedy: Reweld and reinforce the joint on the pintle hook.
