Summary: On certain vehicles, the audible signal may not sound when the emergency door release mechanism is not in the closed position and the ignition is in the "on" position. This does not comply with federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 217, "bus window retention and release".
Remedy: Dealer will install a modified latch mechanism which will allow activation of the alarm, independent of the door position.

Summary: Vehicles may not conform to federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 217, "bus window retention and release". Certain vehicles may have gone through production without the deactivation of the key lock in the rear door.
Remedy: Dealer will install a sheet metal screw in the rear emergency door locking mechanism.
